1. ABOUT ASKARIS
Askaris operates in the oil and gas industry, providing critical inspection services across 300 oil rigs globally.
To manage complex compliance requirements and high-volume inspection records, they required a robust, scalable solution that could streamline operations while maintaining strict regulatory standards.
2. THE CHALLENGE
Managing inspection processes across multiple rigs presented several challenges, including real-time data entry, compliance tracking, and large-scale data handling.
With thousands of inspections taking place daily, Askaris needed a system that could efficiently manage over 20,000 inspection items per site, generate accurate regulatory certificates, and integrate seamlessly with existing business systems.
3. OUR SOLUTION
We provided a custom-built infrastructure to support Arcus Inspect, a comprehensive inspection management system tailored for the oil and gas industry.
Working alongside in-house Technical Managers, we deployed and managed over 20 servers in a custom Azure environment, ensuring reliability and performance at scale.
To enhance operational efficiency, we developed a mobile application using Java/Android and a web-based reporting platform using Java/Grails and .NET/C#.
These solutions enabled real-time data capture, automated compliance reporting, and seamless API integration with existing business systems.
THE RESULTS
The system has been a game-changer for Askaris. Over 12 million inspections are now processed annually, each generating a unique PDF compliance certificate for download or API integration.
The platform supports 4,500+ users worldwide, including teams of 5 inspectors per rig and 10+ reporting administrators per site.
For Askaris’s largest client, the system efficiently handles 380 million inspection records, demonstrating its scalability and reliability.
