Rebuilt an app from the ground up

Your Voucher Book is a mobile app used to manage and redeem vouchers across a wide range of offers and experiences. For users, it needs to feel simple and reliable every time they open it, whether they’re browsing offers, accessing vouchers or redeeming them on the go.

Because the app sits at the centre of the customer experience, performance, stability and long-term support matter. The platform needed to work properly now, while also being ready for future updates, new features and changing app store requirements.

Challenge

The existing app had been built by a previous provider using React Native and a number of third-party components. Over time, that setup had become harder to maintain, harder to update and more exposed to compatibility issues with ongoing Apple and Google requirements.

The challenge was to rebuild the app without losing what users already relied on. The new version needed to maintain full feature parity, improve stability, remove reliance on outdated third-party components and create a stronger technical foundation for future features such as push notifications, in-app purchases and real-time updates.

Solution

We rebuilt the mobile app using modern, first-party technologies, with Kotlin for Android, Swift for iOS and Laravel powering the backend and API. This gave the app a cleaner architecture, stronger maintainability and better long-term compatibility with future Apple and Google update cycles.

The rebuild retained full feature parity with the existing application while improving the structure behind the scenes. We also introduced better support tooling, including crash reporting, user journey logging and device data logging, giving the team clearer visibility of issues and making the app easier to diagnose and support in real-world use.

Result

Your Voucher Book now has a more stable, maintainable and future-ready mobile platform. The rebuild removed reliance on outdated third-party components, improved compatibility with upcoming app store requirements and created a stronger foundation for new features to be added over time.

The app now supports improved diagnostics, better issue visibility and light and dark mode theming, while retaining the functionality users already knew. With the redevelopment in progress ahead of the next major Google Play update cycle, the platform is no longer something the team has to work around. It is something they can keep building on with confidence.
