RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Audit client websites to unearth technical issues that negatively impact SEO performance.
Work alongside the PR & Outreach team.
Liaise with clients and developers to ensure recommendations are implemented successfully.
Building and maintaining client relationships.
Creating and executing SEO strategies to help our clients improve their online presence.
Carry out regular site audits for clients (content, technical, link profile) and make recommendations for optimising the site.
Make on-page recommendations based on keyword research, working closely with both the marketing team and the developers.
Support the development team with website launches and migrations (redirect strategies, content migration, crawl-budget optimisation).
Review SEO performance across key metrics and other key indicators such as ranking and visibility.
Support in the management of Surge Marketing’s own digital marketing strategy.
Maintain detailed monthly reporting documents to monitor and communicate SEO performance.
Keep up to date with Google's latest algorithms and updates and ensure technical SEO strategies are up to date and being adhered to.
Delegation - To delegate work/tasks to other members of the team & seeing these through.
Overseeing juniors, with things such as workload, processes, etc
Reporting key data/department overview to the Marketing Manager or the SLT team.
Always demonstrating behaviours that reflect our core values and re-enforcing these within the team.
Handing escalations/retentions prior to them coming to the Marketing Manager.
Seeking training gaps & providing the training needed.
Work on how to deal/speak to individual team members in which way they would respond best - management techniques etc.
EXPECTATIONS:
Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
Demonstrable experience in driving search traffic growth in previous positions, showcasing your role in achieving measurable results.
Proficiency in using essential SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Tag Manager, as well as platforms like Screaming Frog, DeepCrawl, Semrush, AHREFS, etc.
Proven track record of reporting to clients, delivering recommendations for improvements, and providing clear rationale behind those recommendations.
Ability to work with popular CMS platforms, including WordPress, Aero, Magento, and Shopify.
Understanding of common web technologies, such as HTML/CSS, JavaScript libraries, PHP, etc.
Familiarity with Python (preferred, but not essential).
Knowledge of browser-based development tools like Page Speed Insights, Web.Dev, Dataslayer, Tag Assistant, etc.
Awareness of other marketing activities that impact SEO performance, enabling you to collaborate effectively with other teams.
Eagerness to learn about various aspects of the marketing mix and how digital marketing fits into the broader picture.
Understanding of best practices in International SEO techniques and their implementation.
Proficiency in conducting competitor analysis, including in-depth backlink analysis, and auditing processes related to link strategies, on-page optimisation, and content.
